Our Story

I guess you could say we are wanna be farmers/ranchers or micro homesteaders.  In our real life, we've lived in the suburbs of several cities from Texas, to California, to Florida and now South Carolina.  We've talked about how fun it would be to live on a farm or have a dude ranch or bed and breakfast somewhere.  My guess is we are not alone in our fantasies, but you know the grass looks greener when it is a fantasy.

So, we decided to take a bite size step toward finding out if reality matched fantasy.

In late 2011 we moved to a house on 2.5 acres in an equestrian development on the edge of town.  We've traded our neighborhood sidewalks for neighborhood horses.   I miss being able to walk to Starbucks, but I can get there by car in 10 minutes. We are still in a subdivision and technically in the suburbs, but it is a little roomier out here.

We'll probably push the envelope on what is allowable in a residential development as we explore and try our hand at a few things.  If rule keeping is your thing, you may not want to follow this blog.
